The legacy of Karhu goes all the way back to 1916, making javelins, discuses and running shoes for Finnish athletes. The Finland born, Bear logo brand, also sold its 3 stripes logo to Adi Dassler in 1952, before the likes of the Samba, the Stan Smith and the Gazelle were household names. In 1986 at the height of the running trainer technology revolution, Karhu developed their famous Fulcrum technology. The main design concept of Fulcrum was not about how much you could bounce in the trainer, but how much you could move forward. The trainer technology remains key to the brand’s own unique identity to this day.
In more recent years Karhu established Karhu Originals, with a more lifestyle and sneaker head focused customer. The brand has collaborated with a range of highly respected brands and retailers in the streetwear and sneaker industry over the last 10 years such as Patta, Colette, Footpatrol & Concepts. Karhu are now recruiting for a range of jobs from marketing to content creators at their Amsterdam offices. So what are the benefits of working for Karhu? Well just like any other top streetwear or sneaker brand you can probably expect a generous staff discount, career path opportunities to more specialist roles, a great team to be apart of and plenty of travel in between!
